The Santana is a great building to call home. It’s walking distance to some grocery stores, great restaurants, rec centres/pools, beaches and anything you want to do downtown. The apartment is laid out nicely and the patios are great for a small garden or table and chairs to enjoy the views. Since posting the original piece above the management went from Hollyburn to Lionsgate Communities. Resident managers went from 1 for a single building, to 2 that are expected to looking after 3 other buildings in the West End. They do their best job, but they can only do so much. Building is less maintained, cleaners tend to come once a week and only do common areas. There has been an increase in overnight campers in the yards/ upper parking lot as well as just general debris around the yard.

The first and best apartment we have ever known and loved. Honestly, the memories I have of my time here are unparalleled, and the space had a large part to play in that. Our apartment, while small, was perfectly conceived. The views were sublime, the balcony idyllic, and the light was every photographers' dream. Ioana, the building manager, is superb at her job, and runs the building with a huge amount of care for the property, and every tenant who calls it home. Any issues (of which there were very few) were dealt with extremely competently and efficiently. I would highly recommend considering Santana for your next home - it won't be a decision you regret.

Edit: I took this down from 5 stars to 3. Ever since management changed, the building has gone a bit downhill. The front door seems to always break, we've had squatters sleeping outside in the parking lot, reduced security, and they increased shared laundry prices which is already expensive. Recently, my packages at my own door have gone missing and their suggested fix was "get it delivered to your work-place or be home for them." They suggested it wasn't any tenants in the building, but instead someone walking in behind others, which in-itself poses a security issue. original post with 5 stars: My roommate and I have been living in this apartment for almost 6 years. It's been the best rental experience the whole time I've lived in Vancouver. Ioana, the building manager, has always responded quickly to any issues that occur. The building is always clean and welcoming when I come back from work. My key got stuck in the door and Ioana was helping fix it in 5 minutes! The amount of time I've been here can attest to how great it is.

I love living in Santana! The location is great, close to sunset beach, grocery stores and the bus stop. The building is quiet even though it's in downtown. The laundry room is convenient and easy to access. Ioana is very nice and always there if there's any issues. The apartment is very spacious and has a wonderful view of the city. Overall, living here has been very homely and warm.

My husband and I have lived in a one bedroom Santana apartment for 3.5 years and I can’t say enough good things about the place. We absolutely loved out apartment. It had everything you need to live comfortably - spacious layout, good storage, dishwasher. The laundry in the building was convenient. The location is unbeatable - a few minute walk to the beach, seawall, grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants. The Hollyburn management is also very helpful and Ioana, our building manager is always available with anything you need help with. Even though it is downtown, the location is pretty quiet. If it wasn’t for my new job in a different city, we would never leave. We truly miss living at Santana!
